Seated terracotta doll found in 1955 on the south slope of the Acropolis. The head, arms and lowest parts of legs are missing. It depicts a naked woman. White slip is retained all over the surface whereas the thighs are burnt.
The articulated arms were joined to the torso with string or wire and were movable. Dolls (plaggones) were either used as children’s toys or offerings deposited in female and children burials as well as sanctuary dedications made by girls before their passing into adulthood or wedding.
